EE vs DEI: What Is the Difference?
Employment Equity (EE) and DEI are not the same thing.
Employment Equity is a legal requirement under South African law. It means reporting your workforce numbers to the Department of Labour and hitting specific targets.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion goes further than the numbers. It looks at how included people actually feel once they are in the room, from disability access to how decisions get made.
Equity Works treats EE as the compliance floor and DEI as everything built on top of it.
